Porotherm fired clay bricks
Wienerberger is the world's largest producer of fired clay bricks. In 2024 we photographed its complete Porotherm range at the production plant in Zlaté Moravce – for printed catalogues and for digital.
Challenge
A brick is an ungrateful model. It has deep vertical ribs, sharp edges and a matte surface that loses all texture in the wrong light – or starts to look like plastic. And the client needed dozens of different formats, from standard blocks through lintels to cross-sections with insulation, shot so that side by side in a catalogue they read as one family: same light, same angle, same colour.
Solution
We shot on site at the plant in Zlaté Moravce, in a studio built in the hall, tethered to a laptop – so the client saw every frame full size straight away and could comment on the spot. We set one light and one angle for the whole range and held them across every product. Then came post-production: cutting out onto clean white, retouching scuffs and dust from the production floor, unifying colour and exporting for print and web. The client received a complete database of the photographed products, ready for catalogues and for the e-shop.
